Q & A with Lorna Burford

Over the past week, I've been working on this post, getting ready for mid-terms, exams, and finishing a brutal final project. So, I have finally put some time aside to work on this post properly.

Last week, I met a blogger from the England. Lorna, who's only 22, is a fashion blogger who loves all things creative and has great taste. Her blog is a place where she shares her ideas, inspirations, outfits and anything else can you imagine. But, what I found most interesting was her dream to design a denim line. So, lucky for all of us, she has been ever so kind to answer a ton of questions - we really get to know her!

The Q & A is fairly long, so it will be done in 2 parts! Be sure to check out next week's post for the remainder of the Q & A and some more fabulous photos (more photos can be seen on her own website, Raindrops of Sapphire)! Enjoy! Xo

Where were you born and where do you live now?
Lorna: I was born in England, South West. I still live in the same city I was born in, just in a different house. We moved houses a lot.

What are your hobbies?
Lorna: Designing, fashion, art, reading, blogging, music. Pretty much anything creative :)

What was our childhood like? Did you always want to be a designer?
Lorna: I have always wanted to be a designer since I could pick up a pencil. All of my old books are filled with drawings of my own clothes and I used to make them as well. I have always been creative. One of my favourite things to make when I was little was jewellery :)

Favourite designer?
Lorna: That's tough! I absolutely adore designers like Christian Louboutin, Paige Adams-Geller and the talent behind brands like Miu Miu, Lanvin etc. I think, if I had to pick just one, it would be Christian Louboutin.

What are your favourite items you own and why?
Lorna: That's incredibly tough! I own so many clothes and shoes. I have favourite jeans because they are really flattering and so comfortable, these would be my Dylan George Lucy in Czar, Paige Premium Verdugo jeggings, Paige Premium Lou Lou Tulip, 7 For All Mankind Gummy Denim Gweneveres and slashed knee Gweneveres, Diesel Matic 81M and a couple of cargo pants like Rich & Skinny Aloe Cargo Leggings, J Brand Houlihan pants and Paige Premium Curson Cargo.

I also love my Marc Jacobs Pink Bruna bag, it's so pretty! I love my Christian Louboutin Cramberry Declic and my Fuxia Square Suede Declic as they are just gorgeous! I also love bold jewellery, I own a lot of that and my favourite  jackets would have to be my Topshop black boyfriend blazer and my Topshop PU leather hooded jackets. I love so many things haha!

How would you describe your blog "Raindrops of Sapphire?"
Lorna: My blog Raindrops of Sapphire is a complete fashion outlet for me. It's a place where I can share with my fans my outfits and personal style, also items of clothing that I am lusting over or my inspirations etc. It's my own little blog that's all about fashion and the things I love. I wont ever put anything I don't love on there, so you can really see my style through everything I post, I hope, haha :)

Do you have any favourite bloggers?
Lorna: I do! I love reading fellow fashion bloggers blogs every day! A few of my favourites would be The Blonde Salad, Cupcakes and Cashmere, A Song of Style, Fashion Toast, Fashion Distraction, Ring My Bell and Late Afternoon. My absolute 2 favourites would have to be The Blonde Salad and Cupcakes and Cashmere though. They have such a nice style and great personalities.

What is your dream job? And what are you doing to get there?
Lorna: I'm really enjoying blogging actually, I love it! But my dream job would be to have my own brand. I really want my own jean line as I have been working and obsessed with denim for years now. I'm slowly getting there. Working on DenimBlog everyday and just having a passion for denim helps. Also, I do have some things in the works, but I can't talk about that yet :)

That is the end of Part 1! Be sure to check in next week for Part 2 of the Q & A with Lorna from Raindrops of Sapphire! She will be talking more about her inspirations and her own designs! In the mean time, check out Raindrops of Sapphire, her BlogLovin, Facebook and Twitter! xoxo

Great interview, I had actually not heard of Lorna before so thanks for the introduction! It's cool to hear about her ambitions to work with denim. So many people (myself included) want to get in to the fashion industry... so I think it's really cool how she already has the specialised area she focusses on and works towards. Look forward to part two :-)
